All I can say is WOW what a saw. this is a very complete Circular Saw capable of all the actions of a shop table saw, use of dado cutting heads, setting up to cut large pieces, ripping etc. I am using it in my amateur home remodel and have he saw set up in my shop/living room. It is very quiet and dust collection is not a problem using my shop vac hooked up to the dust exhaust of the saw. I would recommend getting the left table extension when you purchase the saw to give a full width cutting surface capable of cutting wide objects. I had a professional carpenter come in to do some of the work inside the house and he said that he has the same saw, which helped me feel that made the right choice. On point I would like would be a crank to adjust the table bevel, but the system used is easy enough to align accurately with a square.

This is my first table saw. Or rather it's my third as I had to return the first two. I wanted something to redo my interior trim and then to have around for future projects. My first two attempts were a 0 Harbor Freight cheapo (fence not accurate and just generally a poor design) and a SKIL 3400 which is supposedly a 0 saw but the design/quality of the blade guard/antikickbacks was poor and impossible to adjust to blade. I understand now why most are forced to run the saw with these features removed.

After this experience I went to the local big box store which had the Bosch and Hitachi so I could view in person. The fence on the 5 Hitachi would go out of square when tightened. I was blown away by the quality of the Bosch and I wanted a saw with safety features that I wasn't going to be forced to remove.

I got this saw from Amazon in 2 days via Prime. I've no idea how much it cost them as it's HEAVY. I opted for the saw without the gravity stand as I'm short on space. The other saws I tried I could carry around myself easily. The Bosch requires 2 people. I can barely pick it up, it's that beefy. Heavy is good in terms of accuracy when the saw is running. If you need to move it around solo you will need the gravity stand. I may end up buying it.

The quality of the unit and fit and finish is simply top-notch. If you appreciate things that are well made and well designed, this is the saw for you. It comes with a quick install guide. Reading this I had the riving knife, guard assembly and anti-kickbacks installed first time in under 5 minutes, no adjustment required, everything is just correct. How amazing is that? Now I know how it works, it's 30 second job to remove/reinstall them. Also the blade guard is a totally different design that just works.

The fence is fabulous also. Smooth sliding and doesn't loose accuracy when you lock it down.

Bosch 4000-09 Worksite 15 Amp 10-Inch Benchtop Table Saw with Gravity Rise Wheeled Stand Specifications

We think this benchtop is actually a cabinet saw in a compact, totally portable disguise. Its looks are completely deceiving, because it handles any job a big saw can, yet it’s compact for the home workshop and super convenient to take to a job site.

First, it’s got the largest table surface in the worksite class, but lift the lock handle and open out the built-in extension rails and, believe it or not, you’re running sheet goods with a 25-inch rip capacity. The table surface is smooth as glass, and with a coat of wax on it, it’s superb. The extension rails ride effortlessly and lock securely, and the extension doesn’t give even under a full sheet of 3/4-ply. Bosch sells auxiliary left-side and rear supports for unbeatable capacity and stability.

The fence, not even considering that it’s on a benchtop, is awesome. It locks front and back, slides like a dream, detaches and seats without any struggle, stores neatly right on board, and the viewer has a great magnifying lens (though none of us will admit we need it yet) for ultra-accurate fence settings. Out of the box, our fence was totally true and perpendicular to the blade. We like the substantial height of it, and it will easily accommodate any type of auxiliary fence you might want to put on it. The miter gauge is sturdier than what we usually see on a benchtop, and it’s longer, too, for a little more room at the infeed and more stability, too. Positive stops were right on when we checked ours out of the box, but of course, you’ll want to check yours anyway. And like the fence, the miter gauge stores neatly right on the saw base.

Startup is jar-free, and it’s surprisingly quiet for a 15-amp saw, even under a full load. We didn’t experience any bogging down at all in our trials, and Bosch says that’s due to what they call Constant Response Circuitry. We’re just toolhounds here, not rocket scientists, but it has something to do with monitoring the torque demand on the machine and instantly adjusting to deliver enough power for a totally consistent speed. It’s direct drive, of course, yet we felt no-—and we mean zero—-vibration. Now, that could be because it’s heavier than you’d expect a worksite saw to be, but because of the wheeled stand, that’s definitely not a detractor.

Once the saw is mounted to this ingenious stand (and that’s not a taxing task), it only takes seconds to set up or break down with practically no effort. It actually uses the saw’s weight to raise and lower it, and it’s perfectly balanced and provides an ergonomically comfortable work height. Big, beefy, treaded pneumatic tires roll beautifully over even the most rugged jobsite surfaces.

Bosch probably intended this as a worksite saw, but we think it’s ideal too for the home woodworker and do-it-yourselfer, especially one who’s tight on space. The stand lets you fold it up and roll it out of the way when your work is done. Absolutely can’t go wrong with this one.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

I wanted something portable yet accurate. I researched quite a few table saws online and read all of the consumer reviews before deciding on the Bosch. The first saw I got home and assembled was DOA. The power switch was kapoot. So I returned the saw and got a replacement - perfect.

First of all, I especially like the safety features. The riving knife works great, and the anti-kickback pawls can save your life. The rip fence is dead-on accurate. I'm still learning more about the rip fence with the side extended, but think I've figured this out. I can now confidently set the fence per the markings and get a reliable cut. The miter gauge works really well and feels very sturdy.

The gravity lift stand is pure genius and allows me to stow the saw in a corner when it's not needed. Setup takes less than 30 seconds including plugging this baby into a 120 Vac outlet. The soft-start motor is a thoughtful design feature too. The saw's motor runs loudly enough to let you know it means business. I have a friend who nearly sawed his hand in two while vacuuming his shop and he didn't notice that his saw got turned on, so the loud motor isn't really detrimental to me.

On the rear of the saw is the electrical cord storage area, a very handy push stick (safety first!) and the saw dust exhaust port. This port connects directly to my shop vac and I'd say that better than 90% of the dust is captured into the vacuum. If you don't connect a dust collector, this port spews dust a good distance, probably around 8 feet or so.

The saw's construction put metal where it is needed, and sturdy plastic where it is not. This makes the saw light enough to be carried around if you choose not to use the lift stand. But this stand is so good, so portable, and so sturdy, you will want to use it.

So despite my first disappointment with a defective power switch, my overall satisfaction with this saw is extremely high. After using a small 8" bench table saw for over 25 years, now I feel like I've graduated to the major league and can make saw dust with the best of them. This saw has raised the quality of my work due to its accuracy and power. Nice job Bosch.

Got mine yesterday (Sept 21, 2009), uncrated it and put it together (including gravity rise stand) with no problem. Instructions were easy to follow and illustrations clear. All measurements were dead on including miter slot to blade, 90 degree and 45 degree stops, and fence to blade. Also bought the two support extensions which installed easily. The only problem I encountered was the fence to blade zero with the pointer. I couldn't move the pointer far enough to zero it out with the fence against the blade. I will call Bosch about this but it doesn't appear that any additional adjustment is possible. It's out about 1/16th inch and I suppose I'll get used to it but for the money it should be dead on. The digital fence window is hard to read through but not impossible. I give the saw a fat 4 on a 1-5 scale because of the problems noted above but would buy it again in a heartbeat.
